Xbox Series X + Samsung TV + MROCIOA HDMI 2.1 Switch: Unable to Output 4K 120Hz

🔹 Problem Overview

  • Devices involved: Xbox Series X + Samsung TV + MROCIOA HDMI 2.1 Switch

  • Issue: Xbox Series X cannot output 4K 120Hz. Pressing the MODE key only switches between 4K 60Hz and 1080P

🔧 Cause

  • Laboratory testing and log debugging revealed that different versions of HDMI devices in the system can cause this issue

  • Device compatibility can affect maximum output resolution and refresh rate

🔧 Solution: Enable Input Signal Plus on Samsung TV

  1. Go to Settings → All Settings → General → External Device Manager → Input Signal Plus

  2. Select the corresponding HDMI channel connected to your MROCIOA HDMI 2.1 switch

  3. This allows the TV to correctly handle 4K 120Hz signals from Xbox Series X

💡 Tip:

  • Always ensure that both your TV and HDMI switch support HDMI 2.1 features such as 4K 120Hz

  • Enabling Input Signal Plus is necessary for high-bandwidth features like 4K 120Hz
